Bas should donate London $$
Jack hits back:

UNC Leader Basdeo Panday yesterday tried to put Chaguanas West MP Jack Warner on the spot as he called on him to use $300,000 out of the $30 million ’he admittedly received on behalf of the UNC prior to the last general election to help the beleaguered Chaguanas Borough Corporation workers’.

But Warner hit back, saying: ’Tell Mr Panday that it would be a nice gesture on his part if he also takes a small part of the $10 million in his English bank account to join me (in assisting the workers)’.

Panday’s release stated that the party’s National Executive had called on Warner time and time again to account for donations made to the party. ’Warner should use the party’s money to assist the needy in the Borough and not exploit the downtrodden at the Council for political mileage,’ the release said.

But Warner responded, asking: ’Which party would not give the leader of that party $30 million but would give that money to Jack Warner? Isn’t that an indictment on the party leader? Any mad man who chooses to give Jack Warner money for the party and doesn’t give the party’s political leader of the last 20 years, isn’t that an indictment on the political leader?’

’So I don’t have to answer for Mr Panday and his foolishness. All I would say to him is since he knows what I should do, join me with some of the money from the English bank account,’ he said.

Panday had written to Prime Minister Patrick Manning asking that the funds be released and pointing out that many workers were suffering undue hardship as the result of the decision to fire them.

Chaguanas Mayor Natasha Navas had written to Warner requesting his assistance. Yesterday Warner dispatched a cheque in the sum of $309,000 for Navas to pay the workers to continue their work for a period of not less than two months.

London money Posted: 2009-08-10 8:10:00 PM
Yes Bas should donate some of the London money and if he does not know how to access the account he could ask Oma. Nice one Jack...on all counts. Bas talking about the 30 million is like foot in mouth disease...indeed why would they give Jack 30 Million and Panday never got a donation of that size in his entire political career...but then there is Harry??
Bas Should Donate London £'s Posted: 2009-08-10 9:06:00 PM
Darn right and well said Warner!! Bas con't 2 make an 'old' fool of himself. Does he not know when to stop?Is there no one out there who can try to make him see sense? If he cannot do it for himself and his family in the party, please Bas do it for your members and our country.Call an election and give up the leadership. If not,the PNM will be there until your demise. Is that what you truly want? corruption to the highest Posted: 2009-08-11 08:00:00 AM
Backanal, Backanal!! Drugs and illegal guns found hidden away in ceiling of a police station. An MP giving hundreds of thousands to a county cousel to help with salaries and stating not to worry where it came from, but suggesting the party leader could have done the same from funds stashed away in a london bank. What more people of T&T, is needed to prove how riddled with corruption this island has become
Bas you have failed again Posted: 2009-08-11 10:37:00 AM
Mr, Panday once again you have proven to be a failure, Jack is always and be ahead of you, why not help you own people in Couva North. Bas do you have a conscience, you are suffering the people of the UNC, you are no longer relevant to the politics, as long as you are the UNC head there will be no UNITY...time to go, free your people, Jack is coming to town, Bas go look into the mirror...this time Jack has outfoxed you...if you love your people please go, politics do no need you anymore....
Thank you Mr. Jack Warner, we the people will always be supportive to you. Posted: 2009-08-11 1:50:00 PM
We believe Jack and we DO NOT believe Panday. Why would someone give Jack money for the UNC and not make it payable to the party? and why is Panday now talking about the so call money after Jack and him split? From what I recall, Jack is the man that did most financing and now Panday coming up with some crap. I would like to know who believes panday?
After the last election to now and with the RamjackG apart. How much support Panday has? Posted: 2009-08-11 2:03:00 PM
The COP took a large chunk of the UNC supporters mainly because of Panday and his tricks and if it was not for Jack's money and the return of Ramesh, the COP would have been the opposition today. Now with the COP chunk and the division with the RamjackG chunk, how much support does Panday have?
Bas should donate his London $: Posted: 2009-08-11 2:41:00 PM
Mr. Warner---I respect and admire you and everything that you are doing for the country. I met you briefly at the Miami Airport just before the inauguration in DC where I live and work in Congress. I want to see you, Mr. Warner, emerge as PM of the country---you have ethics and demonstrate that you care for the people of your district. I agree with everything you say and stand for. Where did the fromer PM-Panday get this money from-you? Who paid his legal bills-you? And he has all that money stashed away in a foreign bank? Well-I do declare! Capitol Hill, W.DC
