'It good for he'
Cop kills bandit in robbery attempt

aftermath: A Crime Scene Unit officer at the scene of yesterday's fatal shooting of a bandit in Barataria by an off-duty police constable. -Photo: JERMAINE CRUICKSHANK

’It good for he.’

’Is a good thing he dead.’

Sympathy for a dead bandit was almost non-existent yesterday afternoon as he lay on the road next to a car that police believe he wanted to steal from a well-armed, well- trained off-duty police constable who was with his ten-year-old son at the time of the incident.

Up to press time last night the bandit remained unidentified but he was described as being of African descent, medium build, five feet, seven inches tall and may be between the ages of 16 and 18.

His appointment with the ’Grim Reaper’ was estimated to be between 2.30 and 3 p.m. and the officer that killed him was identified up to press time as PC Hall of the Port of Spain Criminal Investigation Department.

According to well-placed sources, PC Hall was near his black and silver Mazda 323 Familia hatchback which was parked near the corner of Tenth Street and Ninth Avenue, Barataria, close to a garage. In the front passenger seat was his son.

PC Hall at the time was standing outside the car, wearing a thick gold chain.

The bandit walked up to Hall, pointed a .357 Magnum to his head and began grabbing the chain. Hall reportedly began telling his now panicked son to ’calm down.’

Both police and bandit struggled as the large gold chain proved difficult to rip off. Hall, however, was able to reach for his service pistol. He pointed it at the bandit who was apparently preoccupied with the chain and squeezed the trigger.

The bandit fell back but as he raised his gun to fire back, Hall shot him again, killing him on the spot.

The officer then contacted his colleagues at the Barataria Police Station who rushed over to the scene.

Joining them was Snr Supt Stephen Ramsubhag, Insps Johnnie Abraham, Stanley Ramdeen and officers from the Crime Scene Unit.

The officer was not on the scene when the Express arrived and no one wanted to say where he was.

Several passersby stopped off at the scene. None seem to be related to the bandit as the people on the scene mused to themselves and each other that ’it good for he.’

The Express was told by several people at the scene that they knew the bandit’s face.

’For the last three days he was riding a bicycle up and down the road...we eh know what he was looking for...well like he find it,’ said one woman who didn’t want to be named.

’Is a good thing he dead,’ said another woman, ’the pitch real hot this evening.’

One less, but no more scarce Posted: 2009-08-18 11:43:00 PM
I am thankful for this officer and his son that they were unhurt. I feel this is exactly the way all criminals who are apprehended in the act should be dealt with...no need for a judge and jury. Clean up Trinidad by killing these worthless elements!
Tragic Posted: 2009-08-19 01:29:00 AM
The greatest tragedy about the crime situation is that it has given us hearts of stone regarding these vermin, really children just like our own, turning us all into angry, vengeful people. God help us all.
Re: Tragic Posted: 2009-08-19 08:10:00 AM
YOU ARE SOOO WRONG, maybe he's like your children but NOT MINE....THEY WILL NEVER END UP LIKE THAT......maybe yours!!!! Ah Trini Too
WELL WELL Posted: 2009-08-19 02:02:00 AM
it look like we are winning the war against crime
Re: WELL WELL Posted: 2009-08-19 08:16:00 AM
Let's not start the celebration yet.. When we get a new CoP and we see what she can do, then we have to celebrate
Very good too Posted: 2009-08-19 04:35:00 AM
Well done Mr Officer you should be commended. One less, only one thing he should not have died so soon, he should live to tell the tale. These criminals, this is the way to treat them.
It GOOD for he! Posted: 2009-08-18 11:48:00 PM
I declare that the TRINITY CROSS be awarded on 31st August, 2009 to PC Hall. Thank you for your heroic deed. I have absolutely NO SYMPATHY, NONE! NONE! ZERO!!! for the bandit and his family. God be praised that PC Hall survived to tell the tale. My faith has been renewed in the police service
Re: It GOOD for he! Posted: 2009-08-19 1:33:00 PM
That is why I am strongly in favor of seeing the TTPS arm all of its officers while on duty and, off duty.
GOOD NEWS Posted: 2009-08-19 03:52:00 AM
Today i feel good...first bandits get beat up by woman ...now bandit shot and killed...There is a god after all..i pray more bandits dissapear. the air taste good today ,,bandit free ahhh,,,someday we will be able to sit and feel at ease when we learn to become good kind people once again. not as some people do ,,wake up in the morning stick a gun or knife in their waist and head out to rob and kill instead of offering some kind of legal work to building a better place. Jail never go away, only people die and go. so my brothers if you want to rob today, think ? in jail no more doubles and bake and shark ,,only long long days and night of listening to the outside world hoping and wishing for freedom...BUT when they had freedom they didnt know it could end in an instant, my brothers.

This is what our once beautiful Island has now become.Imagine in daylight, we cannot walk the street or even drive our cars without fear let alone after dark. These lowlife just prey on pple regardless of age or gender. Well this scumbag met his match and deserve what he got. I hope this officer's son will get some counselling asap as i'm sure he'll be affected by this incident. This officer should be recommended for his bravery and given a few days off so he can spend some time with his son who witnessed thid incident. One more bandit off our streets. Concerned Citizen
Cop kill bandit Posted: 2009-08-19 01:55:00 AM
Well his mother don't have to worry about where he is, or what he is doing, she know now. One bandit less on the street.
it good for he. Posted: 2009-08-19 04:50:00 AM
Finally a police officer who knows how to aim and fire on target. I have absolutely no sympathy whatsoever for the bandit. All the pain and grief they cause innocent citizens never enters their heads.Well done sir, well done.
Unsuspecting bandits Posted: 2009-08-19 00:55:00 AM
Bandits make the assumption that they are the only ones armed. What a rather pleasant surprise awaits them...
Stand up for your rights!!!! Posted: 2009-08-19 05:13:00 AM
Hurrah!!!
It good for he Posted: 2009-08-19 05:17:00 AM

Cop shoots Bandit Posted: 2009-08-19 05:18:00 AM
See what happens when people have guns to 'AT LEAST' be able to fight back???? The tables have turned...time for the count of deaths in Trinidad to be those of the lawbreakers and not the hard working citizens of that little Caribbean island...
Off Duty Officers Posted: 2009-08-19 06:58:00 AM
Off-Duty Police Officers should always carry his or her gun This will have bandits thing twice about who is Police and who is civilian AP Miramar Florida
Re: Off Duty Officers Posted: 2009-08-19 07:12:00 AM
I do not agree with your suggestion we should not have off-duty cops carrying weapons. The law of the land must prevail. One should not break the law to do a good, it can lead to anarchy. Rik.
Re: Off Duty Officers Posted: 2009-08-19 08:21:00 AM
RiK, you must be dotish or something!. Anarchy in this day and time? You must not be reading or knowing the crime rate in T&T. The laws in T&T need to give approval for the poilce officers to carry their weapons. We would be reading about the death of a police officer at this time if this was not the case. I don't beleive an eye for an eye, but stronger laws need to be enforced in T&T
Re: Off Duty Officers Posted: 2009-08-19 10:23:00 AM
yes police officers should be allowed to have gun on or off duty ,however these officers must also paticipate in ongoing anger management therapy /domestic violence and self defense programs... and some more domestic violence therapy....sorry but past history requries me to stress on the domestic violence ....

JUSTIFIED... Posted: 2009-08-19 06:02:00 AM
The sad part of this event, is the cop's 10 yr old son, will remain traumatize for a long time, because this idiot tried to rob his father. Job well done Officer Hall. KS
Good job Mr Off Duty Policeman... Posted: 2009-08-19 02:10:00 AM
Its a good thing when these "cockroaches" of society are exterminated. This criminal clearly had a date with destiny. I hope that our Acting Police Commissioner can afford the policeman involved, the support to deal with this incident.
We need more plain clothes officers as bait. Posted: 2009-08-19 07:26:00 AM
This is the second incident in recent times that a bandit has attacked an off duty police officer and has lost his life as a result. It just proves that off duty police officers should always have their firearms and the commissioner should even consider running sting operations with more plain clothes officers wearing thick gold chains to frequent hot spots and flush out the criminals. It seems to be a lot more cost effective to tax payers to eradicate them than to catch them to be later freed in our circus courts.
"It good for he" Posted: 2009-08-19 04:07:00 AM
It relly good for he, trying to steal what people work so hard for and don't talk about what they (theives) put families through. The little boy will be scared but at least he was not a witness in his fathers murder.Very Good job by the officer.Speedy mental recovery to the little youth.

Bandit Shot Dead by Off-Duty Policeman Posted: 2009-08-19 08:30:00 AM
While killings in this country is the norm of the day, still kudos to the off-duty cop in stopping one more misguided & ruthless individual. There many more out there; watching & waiting to prey on people who work hard for a living. Let them think twice now for who to rob in broad daylight. I say to you again - Kudos Officer!
Re: Bandit Shot Dead by Off-Duty Policeman Posted: 2009-08-19 04:41:00 AM
Time to get tough once again with lawlerssness as it used to be in them old time days.
It good for he Posted: 2009-08-19 07:17:00 AM
That's the way to deal with bandits. Send them straight to hell. This sends a clear message that our society is fed up with these miscreants who do nothing but terrorise people and create a bad name for our country. They are slime and should all be flushed away like the filth that they are. I love a dead bandit. The story headline, says most succinctly. "It good for he."
Well done PC Hall!! Posted: 2009-08-19 08:37:00 AM
It's unfortunate that we have to kill one another to protect life and limb!! I say well done on defending yourself and your son, luckily you are a police man and carried a gun!! We need to get a proper campaign out there to educate our youth or even do what our neighbours are doing to keep the youth away from crime, give them a musical instrument and teach them how to play it!! Education is the key!!
Excellent Posted: 2009-08-19 04:42:00 AM
How much you want to bet his mammy will be bawling that he was really 'a good boy'? He deserved his death as do all these worthless parasites who refuse to get a job and believe the rest of us should be financing them, like we owe them something. There should be a movement to ride up into Laventille and exterminate them all. Kill them ALL.
Bandits think again!! Posted: 2009-08-19 07:26:00 AM
It was good that the cop was not the victim. I hope that his son gets counselling right away since this was a harrowing experience.
10 YR OLD Son Present Posted: 2009-08-19 03:32:00 AM
One life has been taken, and another altered forever...What hurts the most in this incident is a young 10 yr old boy had to see this entire situation play out in front of his eyes! And this time it wasn't a video game. He has been scarred for LIFE. I hope he is able to receive counseling before there are negative ripple effects later on in life. May God Bless him.
Good Job ... but problem not solved Posted: 2009-08-19 07:33:00 AM
I'm happy to hear that the off-duty officer and his son were not harmed during this attempted robbery and that the bandit did not get away with it ... however the killing of this youth does not solve the overall problem. Yes we have one less bandit on the street ... and yes the youth did a very bad thing. But a mother lost her son too, maybe a brother/sister lost their sibling. I mean he was only 16-18 years of age. We need to curb the violence and the mentality in TnT. we need to change the minds of our youths ... the future of tomorrow. Yes a bad person is off the streets now, but was the root cause of the problem really solved here ... NO.
Scout Leader Posted: 2009-08-19 03:34:00 AM
I dont know why these children dont find something to do usefully with their lives as there is urgent need for Scout Leaders, Police, Defense Force Soldiers (A & B Company), church/youth group leaders etc. It is time we as youth do something with our lives. I am a Scout leader and a Recruit in the Defense Force and we are getting to much blamed as young people when there are few youths who do wrong. Let us save our own lives the Police did the right thing before he killed someone.
case closed proud of Officer Hall Posted: 2009-08-19 07:39:00 AM
Any officer could have been the "" Officer Hall of the day "" An imspector in Longdenville had to do the "" officer Hall "" on another lowlife of a bandit . As a police officer, I am very proud of Officer Hall that he was packing serious heat and actually use that heat to make trini much safer . Now mister ABLE ONE if you give the order to the Police Armourer to arm ALL police officers , then the obscene crime situation will drop drastically and in record time . As a police officer , DO NOT try to tell me that I am safe to be around when "" on duty "" and I am suddenly "" SUSPECT "" when I am off duty . A police officer is ALWAYS on duty ,,,,,,even when he is " off duty " and something is brought to his attention ,,, and he fails to act ,,, he will be disciplined for failing to perform his sworn duty ,,,,,,,,so Mr. Commish = arm all AND I MEAN ALL POLICE OFFICERS ,,,,,,,,not only those wearing khaki . A TTPS POLICE OFFICER
something missing Posted: 2009-08-19 03:44:00 AM
This needs further investigations. It is to familiar. Before we proclaim hero status on PC HALL let us step back and examine the facts.

we all are rejoicing over a bandit kill by a police.. i am not condoning his behaviour but what about his mother how is she feeling..it is so sad to see the young generation dying so young..please some one help them
Re: bandit kille Posted: 2009-08-19 08:28:00 AM
Who tell you they want help? Stop dreaming. There are so many programmes offered to them and they refuse. They find somebody else must mind them. They like life easy. His mother should have been 'feeling' something when she realized that her 16 year old son was not in school or working but riding up and down on a bicycle terrorizing hard working citizens. If she was supporting his crap then I feel no sympathy for her. Most of the time these mothers no very well what these 'good boys' are doing and are very happy to receive the spoils of their day's work. No sympathy for her.
THAT'S THE WAY TO GO!!! Posted: 2009-08-19 09:37:00 AM
Now that the justice system is not working in Trinidad this is what the final outcome should be for those who choose to live this way. Cudoos to u Mr. Officer although I doubt very much this will deter the others they might think twice. Look and see if the family don't blame the Oficer for wrongfully killing their innocent child!!! Well honestly who cares what they have to say!!!! Innocent people don't try to rob & kill for a living. Good Job Officer!!!!!
Dedicated criminal Posted: 2009-08-19 09:38:00 AM
The bandit was only doing his job.
Bandit Gone Posted: 2009-08-19 09:38:00 AM
I hope that the young fools who abandon their books for guns to make quick money will realise that their life expectancy is getting shorter when they tackle the wrong man.My only regret is the officer's young son had to experience that situation
feels good Posted: 2009-08-19 09:39:00 AM
feels good to read to victorious stories in the news today
Thank goodness Posted: 2009-08-19 08:28:00 AM
For the first time in a long time i am feeling pleased to read the newspapers this morning. It seems the police are trying to get their act together, responding to the woman in the top story and now this ....wow. Keep up the good work guys. To the woman in the top story "you go girl!!" you are my hero.
Great!! Posted: 2009-08-19 08:31:00 AM
What a fine morning it is wake up and read bandit shot - u could imagine the surprise on his face when he realised his plan backfired!!!Why these illiterates dont try finding a job to better themselves so they wont have to steal what another man worked hard for.
something missing? WHAT? Posted: 2009-08-19 04:32:00 AM
Are you crazy? What you needed the Officer or his Son to get a bullet also? Or maybe this deliquent to have killed and robbed others before someone return the favour to him. Come on!!!! The madness that is going on in T&T they don't investigate the innocent when they are brutually murdered so why should they waste time here!!! PLEASE!!!! Let his family take care of him and let the Officer move on with his life!!!!
For 'something missing' Posted: 2009-08-19 04:37:00 AM
For the person who said isomething missing' It seems like yuh miss yuh son.......like a comment above says....'yuh know where he is now'. What is there to investigate......there were witnesses so case closed!!!! You should stop missing the point!!!! He mother should have raised him better!!! I feel no sympathy for him or his family. Stand up for yourselves ppl!!!!
Re: For 'something missing' Posted: 2009-08-19 08:49:00 AM
i agree, why feel sorry for the dead bandit's mother??? if she could not mine he doh make him. the country over run with criminals and people want to feel sorry for the bandit and his family esp. his mother! Who would feel sorry if he had killed the officer and his son??? why must i live a law abiding citizen when these fellaz roam free, and when they get caught the judicial system gives them more rights. it not right when we innocent get killed and they get off on a law techicality.
Diseased Island Posted: 2009-08-19 04:43:00 AM
Bandits are like roaches -- hard to get rid of. I can't wait to complete my masters so that I can get the out of this DISEASED island. This island is no longer paradise! It didn't become this way overnight and--sad but true--it's not going to change for the better--I mean, GOOD--overnight. One more year to go! I can't wait! If I stay here too long, I'd either be robbed again, raped and/ murdered, or die in vehicular accident.
Re: Diseased Island Posted: 2009-08-19 10:07:00 AM
I jus hope u done have your VISA cause they not givin VISAS to nobody anymore Imagine I am a US Citizen- law abiding, hard working tax payer and they don't want to give my mother her visa- so who is you then?
Is it fair? Posted: 2009-08-19 08:45:00 AM
I would like to ask the Commissioner of Police if it is fair that when the police officer who recently got robbed in Palmiste in the presence of his wife, had nothing to protect his family and what about the Police Officer who was coming from cinema sometime last year and was robbed and killed in Port Of Spain? What about the other police officers in the service, bandits eh want to know where you working in the service they just want the know you are a police and they ready to kill you. So Mr. Commissioner what about personal protection for all your police officers? I am sure they would like to protect themselves and their family to.
Young bandit dead Posted: 2009-08-19 04:52:00 AM
This officer was properly trained by the Police Service and I am of the view that he should have been in a position to disarm or disable the bandit and not necessarily kill him. Come on officers use your training; your are better than the bandits.Allow the judicial system to work.
Re: Young bandit dead Posted: 2009-08-19 09:00:00 AM
The judicial system DOES NOT WORK! What are you talking about?! He would have been out on bail and would have been back to 'work' and would have killed someone the same day! Why are you supporting these hoodlums? Why have mercy on those who have no mercy for us?
Re: Young bandit dead Posted: 2009-08-19 09:00:00 AM
he had a gun pointed to him , in police training if someone points a gun to you, it means they have intent to shoot you , therefore the police must respond to protect himself and others around him , to only way to disarm someone with a gun is to shoot back!
Re: Young bandit dead Posted: 2009-08-19 10:17:00 AM
allow the judicial system to work??? our little twin island judicial system is flawed and corrupted with political interference and 'due process'. By some mistake by the police the judge could throw out the entire case and the bandit would be allowed to resume duty harming innocent people. He lived by the gun and so he left the earth with it. I believe once you pick up an illegal firearm intent to harm innocent people you should have no rights, but hey dat is juss me. only when they come after you or some one you love maybe then trinidad and tobago would wake up!
Re: Young bandit dead Posted: 2009-08-19 09:55:00 AM
So What! properly trained or not, he did the rt thing. What if it was the other way around? Do you think the bandit would have done differently? You do gooders are always trying to save someone from their own doings. The police man did the right thing so do'nt try to make him feel guilty.
Re: Young bandit dead Posted: 2009-08-19 10:12:00 AM
you have not been reading t&t news. The bandits in t&t have been on a rampage robbing and killing inocent people in braod daylight with no mask on ,that's how boldface and ruthless they are.they are not afraid of the police /citizens, and they welcome the judicial system ,because they know they will get bail and the case will take so long to process, and when process ...chance are they will walk free. so the officer was right to shoot inself defense since any procastination on his part could of resulted in his death. This morning the story would of been completely different and your comment would of been different ,the story would of read 'bandit rob police officer and then shoot officer in his head ,the officer was armed at the time but hesitate to use his weapon"... Sorry but we not trying to disable bandits we want to totally "eradicate" them...i will hope an pray a bandit neveer confronts you or your love ones, when an if it ever happends you can try to disarm then ...good luck
good he dead Posted: 2009-08-19 09:00:00 AM

It good for he Posted: 2009-08-19 09:12:00 AM
Love it. Shoot and kill all those bandits. That's how Trinidad would return to normalcy.
Now for the other side of the story... Posted: 2009-08-19 09:12:00 AM
This policeman was fortunate to have the means to defend himself against this banditry. What about the common folk like me and the rest of the population when confronted in this manner? We will end up kissing pavement! Police and thief having it out on the battle grounds that we call Trinbago. But it is the god-fearing law-abiding citizens who will pay as we get caught in the middle. This kind of retribution could never be "good for he". some mother or father just lost a son. Have we become so cold-hearted as the criminals? Have they won by putting us in so much fear that we forget or humanity?
Re: Young bandit Posted: 2009-08-19 09:17:00 AM
The lack of confidence in the youth is the reason why. It is clear as day. I am a young adult and it pains me to read the kind of cold hearted comments and insensitivity. The problem is not with the youth the problem is with you T&T.
Re: Young bandit Posted: 2009-08-19 06:13:00 AM
Yes, let us all just lie down in the road and give them whatever they want. You keep supporting them and telling them that everything they do is someone else's fault. Encourage them to think that they are supposed to do what they feel and someone owes them money and sympathy. You yourself will eventually reap what you're sowing. When they come for you in the dead of night or the light of day, I hope they have the sympathy for you that you have for them. Shame on you for promoting this nonsensical mentality. I hope the police exterminate each and every one of these vermin. Confidence in the youth my TOE.
Re: Young bandit Posted: 2009-08-19 1:32:00 PM
In our days we were not only lacking confidence but most things as our parents even had to pay school fees to give us a secondary Education. Today they are so lucky Education is free even University. In spite of our hard life we did not turn to crime nor did we go killing pple for what they had.The young pple today do'nt want to take their education let alone work. They are hell bent on killing pple for whatever jewellery, car etc. This policeman did the rifht thing by killing that lowife. One more off ur street. Give us a list of all his crime to date and if he is a known criminal. Plaster his face all over T&T. Angry Reader.
Re: Young bandit Posted: 2009-08-19 2:49:00 PM
you are an angry young adult, you also have the right to be angry ,,hell, if i was a young adult now a days in t&t i probably would of been angry tooo ,however that does not give me the right to rob /murder or justifies that action.neither the lark of confidence is no excues ,,how do they intend to get confidence ? by shooting sombody or robing sombody ? where is the confidence in that, they shoot people and then they run ??? running is never associated with confidence ... I hope you can get the help you need because you are not seeing clearly, the comments are cold hearted because the crime is cold hearted ... young man, i feel in my heart you have just made an attempt to reach out for help ,i can hear the fustration in your words ,i only hope and pray sombody get to you before it's to late ... good luck young man ,and may God Bless and keep you .....from boston with love .....

Mr. Commissioner I am happy to see you took our advice and is arming your off duty police officers, yes a police officer should always be armed 24/7 because he is on duty 24/7. Trini in Florida.

Savage Land... Posted: 2009-08-19 06:09:00 AM
Trinidad is now a land of savages where bandits ride to work, not because they do not have a car, but because they are too young to have a drivers license. Something somewhere in our society is very wrong. We cant continue to live like this, getting killed, fighting bandits with flower pots or shooting them in broad daylight in front o0f our sons. If we have to instill mandatory parental counselling for parents below 25, for parents within a certain income bracket or with no tertiary education. If we have to make it illegal for men above 16 to be unemployed and out of school. Anything to stop the svagery...or are we happy to be savages...

RE: Young bandit and Something missing! Posted: 2009-08-19 11:56:00 AM
Your foolish comments are in part responsible for the lawlessness that pervades this once paradise! What facts you don't understand that need investigation? Man point loaded gun at PC Hall while robbing him PC shot him dead in self-defence! Are you brain-dead? Ask for ',Young bandit Dead' when you are being robbed don't use your licensed service gun, but waste time trying to disarm and counsel the bandit while he buss two shots in your chest! PC TREVOR HALL....MY HERO!!!
well done Posted: 2009-08-19 06:49:00 AM
Const. Hall took appropriate action as he would have been dead had he acted otherwise leaving his children fatherless,he truly protected & served his community!

SAD DAY!! Posted: 2009-08-19 08:21:00 AM
It's a sad day when we as a nation "celebrate" over the loss of someone's child. This person was indeed lawless and his death MAY have been warranted but the celebration isn't. The words written by most on here is just as, if not more savage than any crime committed by this boy on the day he died. RIP young man. May your mistakes be forgiven by your creator. AR
Re: SAD DAY!! Posted: 2009-08-19 2:18:00 PM
Sir/ma'am, the difference here is that these so-called savage comments are not hurting anyone. The average person here will not come up to you in broad daylight and rob you of what you worked so hard for. This cannot be said for the deceased. Who knows how many people he has already killed? Call us savage if you will, but rest assured we feel a little safer in his absence and you best believe we will continue to celebrate. If he was doing the right thing with his life, he wouldn't be dancing with the devil right now. Good riddance.
GOOD JOB!!! Posted: 2009-08-19 12:52:00 AM

LIKE YOU IS THE BANDIT COUSIN...What you talking about the police should use his training...As far as im concern his training was used,he aimed and shot the right target....GREAT JOB mr.police officer
Re: Re: SAD DAY!! Posted: 2009-08-19 09:54:00 AM
Your ignorant comment behooves me to inform you that your definition of "hurt" needs to be revised. Though no physical wounds may occur as a result of these comments, someone is being emotionally ravaged. As for you assuming he's going to hell.....lol. 250 words will not grant me enough space to inform you why you may dance with him there. Like I said, the death MAY be warranted but the celebration isn't. AR
Re: Re: SAD DAY!! Posted: 2009-08-19 2:33:00 PM
Well, you're right about one thing, his death was certainly warranted. At some point in time you just may wake up and emerge from your bubble and realize that very often these grieving parents were very aware of their youngsters' activities and only cry AFTER the fact. Where would a 16 year old get a gun? Why does he have the freedom to ride his bike about in the neighbourhood and rob people? Do you REALLY think his parents are ignorant of what he does with his day, and are not very likely happy recipients of of the goods or money he comes home with? You don't think he was being encouraged and being told 'the govt eh doin nothing for we'? And you really feel they are here reading these comments and are being 'ravaged' thus? It 'behooves' me to inform you that as we speak, they are probably posturing in front of some reporter talking about their 'good boy' all the while taking calls on their stolen Blackberrys and wearing someone else's jewellry. If they cared about his outcome and loved him so much, he would have been doing something else with his life. The mango does not fall far from the tree. And don't you worry about who I'll be dancing with, lol...spare a moment to wonder if one of his buddies is marking you and your family right now. I hope your prayers can disarm his gun. I for one will continue to be relieved that this waste of skin is terrorizing the neighbourhood no more.

Dead Bandit Posted: 2009-08-19 2:14:00 PM
I have read the aboved comments about the dead bandit and many are expressing the views of the end result which is the death.I sit and wonder how this beautiful country has come to this state.Where did we go wrong that so many of our young people have decided to either kill or be killed. What has happened to the sacred values of life.Should we as a nation just accept how things are going or should we do some soul searching and start to analyse the problem and make suggessions to our government as to the solutions to this problem. If we dont do this we may wake up one morning and find that our young people have all gone via crime ,migration etc
RE:Sad day! Posted: 2009-08-19 10:20:00 AM
Yet another 'dotish' comment. Savage comments would have been if today's headlines were: "PC HALL and his son murdered!" That would have been savage! Thank God, the Bandit, who was stalled from commiting a SAVAGE ACT on PC Hall and his son, IS the headline. God grant PC Trevor Hall and his family continued protection from the criminals and their families, out here!
Good Job Posted: 2009-08-19 4:06:00 PM
Congrats to the police officer for protecting his son and putting this young miserable thug out of the way for good.
IDIOT DEFENSE - To ALL TRINI defenders of criminals. Posted: 2009-08-19 3:18:00 PM
WAKE UP!! It is those that feel sorry for criminals empower them to cause crime. What about all the people who have died, what about their families, dont they feel the grief when their innocent loved ones die at the hands of someone who does not care about life. I say KILL ALL CRIMINALS AND RAPISTS. If you dont think like me then check me back when your Mother, Sister or Wife gets killed and/or raped for nothing more than being a female. I say HANG THEM HIGH, PUT THEM ON A STAKE CRIMINALS MUST DIE! No sympathy! If you life by the SWORD you DIE by the SWORD. GAS CHAMBER death row innmates in Prison NOW... wasting tax payer money.
Off-Duty cop kills bandit... Posted: 2009-08-19 11:22:00 AM
IT DAMN GOOD FUH HE!!!!!!!!!!! He didn't know the difference between right and wrong. He should have been in his mother's house or learning a trade to better himself. Where did he get a gun to buy? Did his family know about this and his other activities? Down with all these scoundrels, they live to terrorise and torture innocent people. My heart goes out to the officer's son. I pray that the appropriate counselling is sourced for him as the trauma of this horrid event could severely have a negative impact on his mental health.
Re Sad Day Posted: 2009-08-19 4:12:00 PM
Young nations, are intrinsically violent. The USA was birthed in violence, (civil war etc.) The british as a young society was brutal (DARK AGRES AND WHAT NOT). Gird your loins, and step aside and let those who have the stomach for it clear the detritus riding around on bikes and robbing people. Trinidad is in its violent stage and we need to sort ourselves out. The best thing that these bandit sympathisers can do is kindly get out of the way as we send them to Satan's scalding and stony busom
