Two men found dead on Saturday

The partly decomposing body of a Venezuelan national was found in South Trinidad on Saturday afternoon.

The body of 32-year-old Angel Alexander Centeno, of Maturin, Venezuela, was found at Pt Cocoa, Extension Road, Granville, around 3 p.m. by a group of people on an excursion.

Police reports state that everyone got off the bus during their outing and were liming when they spotted the man’s body.

A report was made to the Cedros Police Station and the man, of Spanish descent, was identified through his passport, which was found in bushes nearby.

His body bore a wound to the right side of the forehead, which, police say, resembled a gunshot wound.

The body which was eventually ordered removed by the DMO was taken to the San Fernando mortuary.

In a separate incident, also on Saturday, the burnt body of an unidentified man was found in a drain around 4.45 p.m. at Mahaica Road, Freeport.

The man’s hands were tied behind his back and his legs appeared to have been cut off from the shin. A burnt piece of cloth was wrapped around his neck.

Homicide officers are investigating. -CB
