6 bullets for Diego victim

NO-ONE was able to determine just why a 38-year-old contractor was shot dead as he approached the gate of his Diego Martin house early yesterday morning.

According to both the police as well as the relatives of murder victim, Ian Dinzey, the father of two lived a normal life.

’He went to work and he came home,’ said one of his relatives yesterday who didn’t want to be named.

The incident happened at 12.30 a.m. as Dinzey was approaching his Gilkes Street, Four Roads, Diego Martin, home. The killer peeked over from behind a wall and opened fire on him. The gunman then escaped after squeezing off six rounds at close range, all of which struck Dinzey.

Dinzey didn’t die immediately and was able to muster a ’goodbye’ to one of his relatives who risked her life as she ran outside to attend to him.

His last words to her was, ’they shoot meh’. He also told her he loved her.

A team of Homicide Bureau officers along with Insp Henry Dann of the St James CID visited the scene that morning and interviewed several people from his neighbourhood all of whom were unable to provide a reason as to why someone may have wanted this man dead.

His murder took the year’s toll to 382. -GG

At this rate, per capita, Trinidad and Tobago has more murders that New York City. Trinidad and Tobago make New York City look like a play ground. No wonder Trinidad and Tobago is now the number one murder capital of the world.

Wake up people and smell the senseless killing. I don't know why anyone would be surprised by the killing of innocent people. This is how it is in T&T. Nobody cares, and the government does not see crime as a priority.

This evel behavor must be brought to it's knees. The goverment must made these killings a prioity. How many more bodies must be place in the groung. These animals must be given the death penaty. Hang them high. Why do we stand for these evils to become the norm in the beautiful island as trinidad and tobago. Get serious with the trouble makers. Pass more serious laws to stop this mess. People need to take back their country block by block, town by town, village by village. Send a strong message on zero tolerance with these doners. We are a country of laws. Let's use them.
