18-year-old murdered

A teenager who was granted bail about two months ago, after being charged with larceny, became the country’s latest murder victim on Sunday afternoon.

Nicholas Allman,18, of 108, Laventille Road, East Dry River, Port of Spain, was shot dead around 6.30 p.m., while liming on Jackson Hill, Laventille. His killing has now pushed this country’s murder toll to 385 for the year thus far.

Police reports state that Allman was liming at the corner of Jackson Hill and Laventille Road, when a car pulled up and its occupants started shooting. Allman fell to the ground bleeding heavily and was rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital by relatives who were nearby. He was pronounced dead on arrival.

A team of homicide detectives led by Sgt Andrew Lawrence and including PCs De Gale, McCain, and Inter Agency Task Force officers, including PCs Mitchell, Graham, Baksh and Narine, visited the scene and conducted initial enquiries. Investigations are continuing.
