2 dead, 1 critical after shootings

TWO men are now dead while another is battling for his life at the Port of Spain General Hospital, after two separate shooting incidents on Wednesday night.

The first to meet his death was Ron Etienne, of Harpe Place, East Dry River.

Some hours after Clifton Flanders and Daniel Mitchell were ambushed by a lone gunman, Flanders died on the scene.

According to police reports, the first incident occurred around 7.20 p.m.

Etienne is said to have been liming at Charford Court, Oxford Street, when he was ambushed and killed.

Some two hours later, this time in west Trinidad, 25-year-old Flanders was liming with Mitchell, 21, and some other men, when a lone gunman approached the group and opened fire at Patna Village.

Flanders, of North West Drive, Patna Village, Diego Martin, died on the scene, while Mitchell was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital, where he is listed in a critical condition.

In the second killing, police have no motive, while they believe the earlier killing was gang-related.
