Restraining order fails; woman raped

The restraining order granted to a woman to protect her against an abusive husband proved worthless Monday night.

The man reportedly broke into her home in South Trinidad and attacked her with a pair of scissors, police said.

The 25-year-old woman, a housewife, said she was sexually assaulted, and told she would be stabbed if she resisted. Police are searching for a suspect said to be from Princes Town.

Restraining order Posted: 2009-09-30 05:31:00 AM
Woman I hope you have an opportunity to read my comment. Run Run Run with all your might. Move out of that community. Go some where far Because the man will KILL you dead cold. The restraining order is written on a piece of paper. Remember in this country our hopeless police officers will not arrest him for rape if there is no evidence. The laws of this land protect the perpetrator.

whether its a woman or a man taking out a restraining order, it seriously does not have any worth. the police are not taking the necessary actions unless they are friends with the assailant. I am talking from experience. More enforcements needs to be placed where this is concerned
