Gladiator's home robbed

Santa Cruz police are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding a robbery at the home of radio personality Ricardo Welch.

According to police, at around 2.15 p.m. on Tuesday, two armed men entered the Sam Boucaud home of Welch, known in the media fraternity as ’Gladiator’, tied up his 22-year-old nephew, Anthony Alexander, and proceeded to steal three HP laptops, two computers, an undisclosed amount of jewelry, personal documents, including passports and birth certificates, and other items.

Speaking with the Express yesterday afternoon, Welch said he had left his premises around 12 p.m., to attend an appointment when he received a call from Alexander informing him of the robbery.

’My nephew said he was outside the house and when he was entering the back door he saw a man standing with a gun telling him not to move,’ he said.

Welch said the bandits tied up Alexander while the house was ransacked.

’My nephew managed to untie himself and was hit several times about the body with the gun butt,’ Welch said, adding the bandits then escaped with several items, including his safe.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Maybe the 'Gladiator' will now be able to use his media to express his disgust at the present level of crime in this Country! It's too bad he got robbed, but getting Media Personalities like Gladiator to lend a voice in the fight against crime could be a 'God-send'! God help us!!!

The robbers just wanted to get a little cash, maybe to purchase some basic items. You know how the cost of living in this country is "SKY HIGH"

This is just a regular way of life now, the only thing is that you have to pray that when these bandits rob you, they don't kill you. Like the story in the express yesterday said, more foreign nationals have gun permit more than local business people, so while our leaders and their friends are protected we are at the mercy of these crooks, and the police always slow to act. lord help us.
