Maracas man found with throat slit

A 25-YEAR-OLD man was warded in a serious condition at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mt Hope last night, after he was found along the North Coast Road handcuffed with his throat slit.

Police said at around 6 a.m. yesterday, Darrel John, of Grand Pond Road, Maracas, was found by a motorist lying on the side of the road. He had a deep gash on his neck, and his hands were bound behind his back. He was rushed to the EWMSC, where he underwent emergency surgery and was said to be in urgent need of blood. John’s car was later found abandoned in Valsayn. - RR
