Guard's gun taken after crash

Another gun fell into the hands of criminals, when a security officer involved in a crash was robbed of the weapon by three men who pretended to be his rescuers.

The Estate Constable discovered the 9 mm handgun and 15 rounds of ammunition was gone, only after the suspects had left.

It happened at around 10 p.m. Sunday, when the officer crashed near the Tarouba overpass of the Solomon Hochoy Highway.

He told police that three strangers helped him and waited for the company vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, to be hoisted onto a wrecker.

The theft of the gun and ammunition happened only hours after thieves stole 15 guns from the Mi 5 security firm in Woodbrook.

Guards Gun Taken Etc Posted: 2009-10-27 07:12:00 AM
It's now time to hold these Security pple responsible when guns gets stolen from them. Unfortunately this is no fault of his as he was in an accident. Was he travelling alone? If so! put laws in place wher officers with guns must have a colleague with them when travelling armed. In this case, there would be another member of staff to take care of the ammunition. Hope he was not injured badly. Concerned Pple

I see that there is a high demand for guns and ammunition. I remember the days when money was more valuable to criminals now is just guns to take lives. Pray people, pray!!!!

I DO NOT believe this officer's story. The car crash, he was not injured. I really do not believe his account.
GOOD SAMARITAN LAWS NEEDED Posted: 2009-10-27 1:52:00 PM
There needs to be Legislature to severely punish people who commit crimes against people who are dead,or not in a position to protect themselves. When people cannot protect themselves, the State needs to grant protecttion. It also serves to"police" behaviour of potential offenders. It has become necessary and it's not draconian. It only serves to protect the helpless.Aubert Modeste
