Want to purchase a piece of original Haitian art to help a worthy cause?

You still have a few days left to attend an exhibition entitled ’An Encounter with Haiti’ and buy a piece from the collection of MediaNet Ltd.

Venue of the exhibition, which started last Saturday, is The Media 21 Building, 6 Maraval Road, Port of Spain.

Thirty-three-and-one-third per cent of the total sales will be donated to the MediaNet Haiti Relief Fund.

Former ambassador Reginald Dumas is heading the fund which is a collaborative effort of Dumas, author of An Encounter with Haiti, Notes of a Special Adviser, the book’s publishers Medianet Ltd, local non-governmental organisation Is There Not A Cause (ITNAC) and the Trinidad Express Newspapers.

Beautiful Art Posted: 2009-11-13 06:43:00 AM
I have been to Hati 3 times...and the Art and Craft over there...so rich, so deep and so colorful... Every home should have one....no matter what race...and get rid of the calendars...and replace it with ART...
Distinctive Art. Posted: 2009-11-13 08:36:00 AM
Haitian art is so distinctive. I can always tell when a Haitian has produced a piece of art work. Maybe they can come back during Carnival. SeeDeSea
