Chopped in forest
Gardener attacked...

A 50-year-old man is fighting for his life at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex after being chopped about the body on Saturday afternoon.

Hollis Shade, a gardener of Fishing Pond Road, Sangre Grande, reported to the police that he was in his garden shed on Friday around 9 p.m. at 7 1/2 Mile Mark Carib Glass Road, Matura, when four men approached him, two armed with cutlasses while the other two had guns.

The men, after obtaining nothing of value, chopped Shade.

Officers of the Sangre Grande Police Station, led by Cpl James Glasgow, went into the forested area after receiving an anonymous call telling them of a man with chop wounds.

The gardener was removed from the area and taken to hospital.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, two men were arrested by officers of the Northern Division Task Force on Saturday after they were found with two home-made shotguns.

According to reports, the officers were on mobile patrol in the vicinity of Sub-Station Road Talparo around 5.30 p.m. when they happened upon three men who began to act suspiciously when they saw the officers.

The lawmen searched the three and found on them the two guns along with 11 rounds of 12-gauge shotgun cartridges and four rounds of 16-gauge ammunition.

The men were arrested and taken to the San Rafael Police Station.

I bet the who were caught with shotguns will be out on bail. There should be no tolerance at all for breaking the law, no bail for the possession of any fire arm. I hope one day we will get it right in Trinidad..TriniUSA.

What is wrong with those men who were stealing from the man and did not find any thing of value and turn around and chop the 50 year old man aill over his body, my god watch over the man and bring him back to good health. And for those men who try to kill the man may god have mercy on them, if they did not find they could have left the man alone, i don't mine if they messup his house you din't had to hurt the old man, i hope you can live with your self with what you'll did. And for the 50 year old man god is with you and he will give you the strength to carry on. thank you.
