Autopsy: Murdered man strangled

AN autopsy on the body of Ravindra Ragbirsingh who was found dead at his Pasea Road Extension, Tunapuna home on Sunday has found that he was strangled.

Police investigating the case believed that he was killed during a robbery.

A laptop computer and other valuables were reported missing from Ragbirsingh’s home by relatives.

Ragbirsingh was found dead inside a back room at his home sometime around 7.30 a.m. on Sunday.

A next-door neighbour who visited Ragbirsingh that morning to borrow some painting utensils discovered the body and called police. When officers arrived at the scene, Ragbirsingh was found bound and gagged.

Yesterday relatives refused to say anything about what happened when approached by reporters at the Forensic Science Centre, in St James.

Through a family friend they said that they wanted to keep the issue private.

Homicide Bureau officers are continuing investigations. -GG
