We, the people of T&T, have finally reached the limit of our patience over the failure of successive administrations to take seriously their responsibility, to us and to the offices they hold, in the name of governance.
We, the people, are tired of the inane ramblings of incompetent ministers, permanent secretaries and other high-ranking, high-salaried operatives, who continue to bungle along at the expense of the hard-working and suffering masses in the country.
We, the people, are indeed tired of the unchecked crime situation, the daily murder statistics which seem to be of concern to only the vulnerable in society, certainly it appears to be of little concern to Manning and his Government, as they continue to govern by ’bamboozle’ and ’flim-flam’, without a care for the effects that their failure is having on the masses.
Yes, we, the people, cannot continue to accept this lack of accountability and transparency that is the culture of this PNM administration, this wanton squandermania, this depleting of the national patrimony in the name of progress and development, this spiriting away of billions of dollars, as if money is no problem. Well, to us , it is a problem. Money, if we had it, or access to it, will afford us good health care services, adequate food and shelter, proper education, acceptable, if not perfect security, if only we had money.
We, the people, take seriously those guarantees enshrined in the Constitution, and cannot continue to accept excuses and non-performance ’a la’ Colm Imbert, Jerry Narace, Peter Taylor, Esther LeGendre, Mariano Browne, Martin Joseph, Arnold Piggott and the likes, not forgetting the ’little dictator’, Patrick Manning.
We, the people are fed-up, frustrated and infuriated by this continued disrespect for the people’s welfare, and it is time we all lend our voices to the call for accountable, transparent and equitable governance in this land of ours, if not for ours, but for our children’s sake.
