W Connection edge Cavaly 1-0

W Connection added a 1-0 victory away over SA Cavaly of Haiti on Friday night to a 3-1 home win last week to advance to the semi-final stage of the CFU Champions Cup.

After a runaway 17-1 aggregate win over Bath Estate of Dominica in the first round, W Connection got past Cavaly 4-1 on aggregate.

On Friday night, Connection won on a 75th minute penalty from Brazilian William Da Silva de Oliveira. The spot kick came after W Connection midfielder Houghton Hector was taken down from behind by a defender after picking up a through ball and having just the Haitian goalkeeper to beat.

Not only did Cavaly fall a goal down, but the defender was issued a straight red card and sent off for the infringement.

W Connection will now await a semi-final draw involving themselves, Puerto Rico Islanders, T&T Pro League champions San Juan Jabloteh, and the winners between Haitian club Spoirtif and CSD Barber of Antigua.
