TTGFA elects new president
Game Fishing

The members of the Trinidad and Tobago Game Fishing Association (TTGFA) elected Richard de Verteuil as president at their 2009 annual general meeting held at the Trinidad and Tobago Yacht Club in Bayshore on Wednesday.

Along with de Verteuil, the newly-elected TTGFA management committee team comprises several existing committee members such as vice-president Marylin Sheppard, secretary Alan Fitzwilliam and treasurer Alan Sheppard.

Steven Valdez, Paul Wittet, Geoffrey Pollard, Reginald MacLean, Dominic Wallace and newly-appointed Andre De Laparouse and Ian Bose are the other members of the executive.

Outgoing president Chris Mouttet also remains on the committee.

’Our management team has done a fantastic job over the last few years and I expect to continue the great work set out by this committee under the leadership of the former president,’ said de Verteuil.

He continued: ’There were many topics discussed at the AGM, including the success of the many leading tournaments, especially our Marlin Madness, Tarpon Thunder and Young Anglers tournaments. We also looked at ways to ensure increased long-term sponsorship of events and tournaments and the sustainability of the sport for future generations through conservation efforts just to name a few.’
