Jamaican Rodman wins King Memorial race

TOP CYCLIST: Marloe Rodman

Marloe Rodman of Jamaica was the winner of the inaugural Leslie King Memorial road race from Nestle’s compound on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, Valsayn, to Guayaguayare.

Rodman, who was in the top ten in the Tobago International Cycling Classic last month, finished ahead of Adam Alexander and fellow-Jamaican Lin-ford Blackwood.

Veteran Gene Samuel, who won the previous road event put on by the Trinidad and Tobago Cycling Federation, finished sixth this time, behind Alexander’s brother Joshua.

Samuel’s son Gevan was fifth.

The race, sponsored by Perfection Ser-vices Limited, was named in honour of the recently deceased former national cyclist and Cycling Federation official.
