MACHO UNO, who nailed Homebrush Baby on October 31 over 1,200 metres, looks set to repeat in Saturday’s 1,300-metre Optional Claiming ($20,000 - $17,000) - the curtain event on the eight-race card at Santa Rosa Park, Arima.

The Allan Madoo-owned creole, conditioned by Lester Alexis, came from last to first, and now that he is travelling a further 100 metres looks set for success at the expense of Homebrush Baby.

The feature event on the day’s card is the 1,750-metre Starter Allowance, the day’s opener, which has attracted this year’s winningnest horse, Perfect Circle. Perfect Circle has won four races on the turf and two races on the main track, and is looking to further enhance his record in the two-turn event, against the likes of Carib Guineas winner Santa Rosa Boy and Jamaica-bred Dream Girl, a winner of four races this season.
