Media producer, director and TV personality- how can one woman wear all these hats? Well, Lisa Wickham is not flustered in the least and her success is proof enough that she is indeed capable of her many roles. But there is more. In addition to being the CEO of Imagine Media International Limited, Owner-Producer-Presenter of E-Zone TV Show and Founder and Editor-in-Chief of E-Zone the Magazine, Wickam is also Founder of the Caribbean Film and Media Academy and CEO of E-Zone Entertainment Media Production Company.
Appearing on television since age 6, she is especially known as presenter on the Rikki Tikki Children’s Show, Party Time, Dateline, T&T This Morning and the E-Zone.
Wickham has produced for US Cable Channels BET, BET J and MTV, produced and directed a number of award-winning music videos and commercials and has contributed to BBC 1 XTRA and BBC Radio 5 Alive.
The former General Manager of the UWI Institute of Business (now known as the Arthur Lok Jack School of Business) and Head of the World Bank Training Project the Global Quality Exchange,Wickham is a graduate of the London Film Academy, Warwick University Business School UK (MBA with Distinction), Wirschaftuniversitat, Vienna, Austria, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and the Oxford University, Said Business School, Executive Development Programme.
1. What quality do you like the most in women?
Independence.
2. Your happiest moment?
On the road with the E-Zone TV Show and my time at Warwick University in the UK.
3. Your secret fear?
I have no fear.
4. Which living person do you admire the most?
Sir Richard Branson.
5. What quality do you value most in your friends both male or female?
Loyalty and honesty.
6. What is your greatest extravagance?
Zen. (lol!)
7. The place you would like to visit before you die?
Gosh if I could go back in time to Trinidad in the 50’s and 60’s to spy on my mum and her friends, hmmm!
8. What is your favourite journey?
On the Gatwick Express Train from Gatwick Airport to Victoria Station, London at 7 o’clock in the morning.
9. What advice will you give to people wishing to enter your field?
Don’t be too caught up by the glamour, it’s just the surface. Determination, depth, substance and a willingness to perform all tasks regardless of how mundane are desirable qualities. Hone your skills, build your craft and pursue excellence in order to stand out.
10. What is your current state of mind?
Peaceful and optimistic. I think in multiple layers the rest will take up too much space.
11. What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Lack of integrity.
12. What is your greatest joy?
My daughter Gabi!
13. What is your biggest turn on in a man?
Fearlessness, sensitivity and the ability to take charge.
14. What is your guilty pleasure?
Moet (Nectar).
15. What is your lowest depth of misery?
I don’t know the word misery.
16. What is your pet peeve?
Being in a place where mediocrity is celebrated as excellence.
17. What do you get complimented most about?
My smile.
18. When was the last time you cried?
Wow, I cried for a month when Michael Jackson died yes! But only because he represented so much of a simpler time. I am so emotional.
19. What was the first thing you did this morning?
Hug Gabi, (she woke me up). I prayed and then I checked my BlackBerry.
20. What do you consider your most cherished virtue?
I have two actually. I believe in reputation before riches and my determination to mentor others to become their best.
21. If you had one personal wish (which you alone can benefit from hence world peace etc not applicable)?
I don’t believe in wishing! I make things happen!
