A night of hell, headache, heartache

The transition from the old to the new year is supposed to be celebrated in a fun but safe and positive manner.

However, that definitely was not the case in this country including the area that in I live in. The use of extremely powerful and loud fireworks, scratch bombs and explosives turned the occasion into a night of hell, headache and heartache for pets, animals and the non-nuisance members of the community.

Apparently the pain of some, are the joy of others who are inconsiderate, heartless and insensitive. I strongly recommend a petition should be created against fireworks and the Government should take this matter seriously for it worsens and increases every year.

It's a new year and let us all try in some way to thrive towards becoming a better nation by being considerate towards our neighbours, animals, nature and the environment. As Gandhi truly said "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."
