ToolsCement retailers taking advantageOnce again the citizens of T&T are being made to pay exorbitant costs for a locally manufactured product, all because of the illegal practice of price gouging by unscrupulous hardware merchants and the failure of Trinidad Cement Ltd to publish the correct prices of its cement for the nation to be aware. While they continue to produce daily quantities as of now, their "business partners" continue to demand the vulgar price of $60-$62 per sack. The price before industrial action was $48, so why this 25 per cent increase? Remember, we are in a free trade era and thus we can leave their product alone. The time is now for T&T to take action and move our business elsewhere. Let the price gougers feel some stress too. E O'Connell Princes Town |
