Front page of the Express yesterday: Photograph with title “Hole on highway” shows what is supposed to be an immediate response to a real threat and danger to the general public.
Whereas I have absolutely no problem with the response to make the situation safe I do have a problem at the expense of making it safe.
Where is the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) of all those involved in making same safe?
Two men in a collapsed area of the road with no PPE and one of them without even a regular jersey?
At least one of the onlookers have on one form of PPE!
This article is not intended to put anyone on the spot but rather to put us on our guard that safety comes first!
This scenario reminds me of the all too familiar the-boss-and-dem-want-it-done-quick syndrome!
Get the situation corrected with little down time as possible ... no matter what the cost!
Picture this syndrome being applied in an industry where electricity is the product being dealt with.
