Claxton Bay owes MP our thanks

I am writing this letter to convey my thanks to the Honourable Minister of Local Government and Member of Parliament for Tabaquite, Dr. Surujrattan Rambachan. He has thus far done a more than satisfactory job in the Caratal and Macaulay area. Our roads have been smoothly paved and accompanying concrete drains have been built. Also in areas prone to land slippage several retaining walls have been constructed.

However, I am especially grateful for the assistance that was given to me and several of my neighbours after I went to Dr Rambachan's office in Gasparillo. I visited the office in July to enquire whether it would be possible to get our street paved or if we could simply get some material to do some much needed repair work. Much to my delight the minister obliged without hesitation.

He immediately contacted Minister Emmanuel George and within the space of about three months our street was fully paved, complete with box drains. From loose gravel and huge sinks in the road caused by water runoff our street is now smooth, wide and has proper drainage. Now access has never been easier. Our vehicles no longer struggle to reach our homes and visitors can now park and turn with ease.

Therefore I would once again like to express my gratitude to our MP and hope that he continues the good work.

Shamkumar Ramsaroop,

Claxton Bay
