ToolsDo more for T&T's citizensA neighbour of ours recently spent nine days warded at a major hospital. He related to us that his linen was not changed for three days, there were fights for beds at nights because patients were sleeping on chairs in corridors, meals were delivered very late and even a cup of water was in short supply. For too long the media has enveloped itself with the Prime Minister, Jack Warner, the Attorney General and the Police Commissioner. It is time for others to be in the spotlight, namely, Ministers of Health, Agriculture and Water Resources, and others. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary of Independence, we hope for better conditions at hospitals, Government offices, police stations, roads, waterways, etc. Patriotism will not be achieved by giving flags to every home, but by every home buying their own flags and displaying them because they are proud citizens. Patriotism will be achieved when we obey the laws which govern our country. May God bless us and have mercy on us, for we are heading down the path to self-destruction. Meela Hskab Chaguanas |
