Don’t forget jobless graduates, underemployed
Reference to Rolph Balgobin’s column in the Express of October 15, headlined “Poor professionals and the professionally poor”.
There are two other subsets of a not insignificant number of professional poor.
These are the newly graduated professionals who are unemployed and cannot find jobs or are sometimes employed in jobs far below their education capability and, secondly, the retired professionals. The latter group due to improvidence and/or inflation are scrunting.
Can anything be done for these groups or is it like death—a part of life?
