Explain assault on this green space

Has the voice of civil society in the City of San Fernando gone into silent mode?

One of the open green spaces in Gulf View, La Romaine, originally reserved for the establishment of a school and approved by the Town and Country Planning Division for such, has been recently barricaded. Heavy equipment is being mobilised for the extension of a concrete jungle, not to mention the traffic chaos to follow.

This space had served as a play park for decades.

There has been no public announcement about this change of use and the purpose of construction.

Do we have a parliamentary representative and/or a city councillor who can state publicly what is going on?

Citizens are entitled to the protection of open spaces that will benefit the generations to come.
