Get MPs to account for their work

I was reading this week of someone stating that their MP, Roodal Moonilal, was guilty of neglecting his constituency matters for a long time.

I am not a constituent of his as I live in Chaguanas but he's like other active MPs — Jack Warner, Fuad Khan, Stephen Cadiz and Glenn Ramadharsingh whose activities are often highlighted.

I remember some people at Diamond Village who had their roofs blown away were assisted by MP Moonilal.

It was also in the news when an elderly couple had the land caving in at their home and they had the drains cleared at the back of their residence to prevent a calamity. I read about the Esperance Regional Complex clean-up and beautification exercise and the one in Golconda and the assistance for the Debe Health Centre that was assisted during the flooding.

Before we publicise inaccuracies we must get the information correct.

Remember, MPs as well as ministers are "servants of the people". If you are not sure, then you have all right to ask what have they done and they must be transparent in action and if not, they are answerable to the people through Parliament.
