Give the PM a break

I hold no brief for Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar or her administration, but fair is fair.
The lady, in her statement on the fight against crime, employed a metaphor.
See “metaphor”:
n. “figure of speech in which a name or descriptive term is given to an object to which it is not literally applicable”.
The Prime Minister’s statement was not meant to refer to anyone as being a dog.
In the movie, Gladiator, Russell Crowe, in the instant of leading his army into battle, exhorted his troops to “unleash hell”. Another metaphor.
“Unleash the dogs of war” and “Unleash hell” are the same battle cry as “Attack with full force”. In essence, they are meant to take the fight to the enemy with everything you’ve got.
Come on, people, give the lady a break on this one.
