Good governance continues

As the People’s National Movement (PNM) mustered its scores of rowdy supporters outside of Parliament to instil fear and panic in the population relating to the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, the Government followers stood in dignified silence.

As the PNM summoned its absent members of Parliament to fly thousands of miles to preach their mantra of hysteria, terror and destabilisation, the Government members sat in eager anticipation of advancing democracy.

As the PNM created the impression the Government enlisted Adolf Hitler and the Third Reich together with Idi Amin, Mugabe, Stalin, Saddam and the apaches to bring chaos and disorder to this country, the reasoned voice of a strong and confident Prime Minister stood tall.

In the early hours of the morning, history-making constitutional reform was passed in the Lower House after more than 40 years of talking. The PNM and its support staff were defeated and good governance continues.
