ToolsGood move to repeal Indictable Offences ActShould the Parliament fail to repeal clause 34 of the Indictable Offences Act recently proclaimed, Ish and Steve will immediately face extradition proceedings to the USA previously suspended because of their imminent prosecution which they are seeking to have discontinued. From all that has been written, it appears that the Parliament erred when it approved Senate amendments made to the Bill without proper examination. The People's Partnership government must be complimented for the quick action being taken to repeal the Act, but must guard against such shoddiness in the future. Had Ish and Steve escaped prosecution, we would have had our worst fears confirmed of being a crooked nation of bribe takers where the wealthy are never made to pay for their crimes. Parliament's historic reconvening to repeal the Clause is a good sign.
