ToolsHands off those doubles pleaseI thought by now that doubles vendors would by now come to realise that much more people are becoming very health conscious and as such, they need to change the manner in which the delicacy is sold. I am referring to those people who take out the doubles from the containers with their bare hands. It will be said that there is another person who deals the with handling of cash only, but such practice is still not sanitary. One will always find something to do with his/her hands like scratch a part of the body or fix one's clothing, strike a fly that just landed on the face, or even place them on the counter surface when there is no customer to be served. I have also observed that what some of those vendors wipe their hands on a nearby damp piece of cloth. This method is also not sanitary because, what is being done is the transferring of germs from the cloth to the hands and onto the doubles. I am asking those doubles vendors to put a stop immediately to this practice and do like so many other vendors by using a spatula and not their bare hands to take out the doubles from the containers. I am also asking the public health officials to deal with this matter urgently. If laws have to enacted for this healthy practice to put in place then let it be done very soon. There are too many different types of serious diseases coming on stream all of a sudden and causing problems for the medical experts to deal with them effectively. Lindsay Wheeler Arima |
