Important to plan ahead

Hi Consul, My H1B petition has been approved and I will be travelling back to T&T in December, therefore I will like to make an appointment in December. However, it shows that no dates are currently available. Is it that these days are no longer available or they just have not been opened up as yet?

Mr Fraser

Dear Mr Fraser,

The US Embassy in Port of Spain strives to keep wait times for interview appointments as short as possible. Appointments are made online at trinidad.usembassy.gov. Most applicants can schedule appointments within 1-2 days. You can visit the US Embassy Port of Spain website to check the current wait time; this information is updated weekly. We open appointments for scheduling two months in advance, and often open more slots as the appointment date gets closer. If you are trying to schedule an appointment more than two months away, it is likely that we have not yet opened those days.

It is important to plan ahead. Applicants should apply several weeks in advance of their planned travel, especially during busy times such as in the summer and before major holidays.

Do not wait until the last minute to apply for a visa prior to planned travel. For more information on how to make appointments and what to bring to the interview, travellers can consult our website at http://trinidad.usembassy.gov/ or e-mail consularpos@state.gov or call the Embassy at 622-6371 between 2-3 p.m. Monday to Friday.
