It's like an orgy

The art of calypso seems to have gone to the dogs, literally. Singers now carry on like dogs in heat. They have prostituted the art form for fame and fortune.

They often appear to me to be like people giving instructions in a mass orgy – how and when to wine and so on.

Gone are the days when calypso was a prophetic message to the nation. There are so many potent topics to sing about to edify the masses.

The soca artiste now seems to have a one-track mind. It's a disgrace to true calypso as we knew it.
