Judgment time is coming again

Michael Harris' column in Monday's Express and Clarence Rambharat's column in Tuesday's Express, both on the subject of Jack Warner's continued presence in the Government, encourage us in the recognition that there are those amongst us who will continue to identify and analyse the issues for us, as well as speak truth to power.

Those who hold power will continue to govern regardless and as they please but we, the people, will remain alert and informed by our commentators, and by our own innate capacity to discern. And we will pass judgment at every opportunity, as we have been doing since the general election of 1986.

We will have two opportunities in 2013 — the THA elections and the Local Government elections. The COP appears irretrievably damaged through its association with a marauding UNC. But we, the people, will continue to keeping going back to the drawing board until we get the country's governance right, for our children's and their children's sakes.
