Lok Jack’s ethics still high

The current controversy surrounding the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business and its award of an EMBA to a high ranking official has captured national attention resulting in many negative implications for the institution.

As a current student of the school it has become necessary to offer a contrasting opinion on the institution.

The one debacle at the  Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business (ALJ GSB) should not be a catalyst to discredit the many students, past and present, who have dedicated a significant portion of their life to achieving their relevant credits.

Although the present situation may have been mismanaged at several levels, the underlying fact remains that the school continues to be a top performer in the sphere of higher education with a legion of accomplished and distinguished alumni who are testament to its value. The school maintains its high standards of professionalism, its integrated and applicable learning techniques and a resourceful administrative staff.

I am certain the Honourable Speaker meant no harm to fellow students or the institution in his request for special consideration due to his position as, thus far, all requirements from the UWI were met.

It should be noted that the ALJ GSB continues to receive the support and confidence of many members of its student body.
