Losing Mr Guerra

Theodore Guerra SC died at around 9 a.m. on December 28. As a former member of the Office of the DPP I had the pleasure of appearing opposite Mr Guerra in several criminal trials. He was a formidable opponent. He was a fine cross examiner. He was lethal in his closing addresses. He was indeed one of the best trial advocates at the criminal bar.

He was always a gentleman, very humble, approachable and down to earth. He was also larger than life and colourful. He brought to the courtroom his keen common sense, experience and wisdom. T&T has lost a fearless fighter for the cause of justice.

I pray that his family, friends and colleagues will find comfort in this time of sadness.
