Make ‘rough’ cops pay
It has been reported once again that the State (read “taxpayers”) has to pay damages to a citizen because a police officer has abused and taken advantage of someone.
This practice should stop, and I would suggest the Government provide the funds for a citizen to sue the police officer in his private capacity, so that if and when the officer loses the case he also loses his house and car.
Also, when an officer commits a crime, they transfer him to another station. I would like to suggest that whenever this occurs he be transferred to the furthest point on the island.
