ToolsMiller unfair to Minister WarnerNo, Marlon Miller, the legal destruction of an illegally constructed protest camp will perhaps not have a direct impact on the murder rate! While I know you were asking the question rhetorically or sarcastically ("Way to go, Warner" Express, June 30), I think it would only serve you well to actually read the crime plan, and after a reasonable period of time after its implementation, evaluate its effectiveness. Crime is crime, whether it's littering or murder, and while I am in no way equating the two, we cannot turn a blind eye to "lesser" crimes because it endears us to the masses or it is the flavour of the week. You seem to have an issue with Mr Warner as you have summarily tried, convicted and condemned him purely based on, even by your own words "perception". Mr Warner has no convictions or criminal record, so how is it we question his appointment as National Security Member? Is he not a duly elected Minister of Parliament? Is he therefore not entitled to such? Kevin Gomez Via e-mail |
