Our country needs extra help

It is becoming more and more apparent that this small, just 50-year-old country of T&T is quite ungovernable.

Our society has become one of minimum work for maximum pay, crime pays big time, take what you can and get out and the law is not the same for everyone.

Even though the Government may have made mistakes in the past, and continues to make blunders ever so often, there are still some MPs who are trying to make a difference. All this may be masked in a seemingly endless chain of protests, upheavals and contrary comments by the Opposition in Parliament who from all appearances does not care what harm is done to the country and the citizens but only what mileage is derived from these negative retorts.

Laws can be made that can have the world of great intentions but if these laws are not well executed then all will fall apart. The true effect of these laws and the real essence will be lost resulting in mayhem and chaos as we see almost every day.

The recent easy let-off of an entertainer after a serious criminal offence, regular reports of officers sworn to upkeep the law flouting said law and now the easy let-off of a past prime minister with a foolish statement that "there is not enough evidence" shows that we just "kicksing". Why not go out there and get the evidence or demand that someone does his job? It is easier just to say, "there is just not enough evidence". How convenient! We need supernatural intervention.
