ToolsPolice scarecrowsWhile the intention to augment the police strength is commendable, incredible madness seems to be emerging because, in effect, what Jack Warner is turning this thing into is the placement of police scarecrows by every lamp post. The Ag Commissioner seems petrified to talk his mind against how Jack sees it and Sgt Ramesar of the Police Service Social and Welfare Association is probably optimistic that Jack will get the tribunal case against Ramesar neutralised so he too would appear to be ungrateful by telling it like it is. The only way for the police scarecrows and the police not to be embarrassingly mistaken for each other is for Ag CoP Williams to give them a different headgear as has been done with the defence force reserves. These 10,000-strong hastily put together police scarecrows will deplete almost the entire strength of private security guards but there is hope—our education system will guarantee that thousands will fail the dictation although it would not be beyond Jack to scrap the dictation to ensure he gets all his police scacecrows.
