THIS is an open letter to President Carmona.

Sir, I congratulate you on your elevation to the position of President. My family also extends their congratulations and best wishes to you and your family.

I wish to also congratulate you on your inauguration speech as in many ways it reminded me of Eric Williams' speech to children on the eve of Independence in which he told them "you carry the future of the nation in your school bags".

I wish your Excellencies a very fruitful term in office.
