Reform welcome

I was pleasantly surprised as I heard the proposed Constitution reforms which were announced on Monday. As promised, the Partnership is showing its commitment to the people.

I know for a fact the right of recall will be one which citizens will appreciate tremendously.

It will most certainly act as a disciplinary system for elected officials to ensure little transgression, as well as guarantee all decisions made are agreed upon by the majority.

It will also allow us to exercise some extent of control over who represents us in the Parliament, and this is why the right to recall is a much welcomed change to the Constitution.

This move shows the willingness of the Government to listen and act upon the voice of the people. It gives the people more power and facilitates more accountability.
