Remember the youths are watching
Over the past few weeks, we have seen a deterioration in the politics of this country, as the rhetoric on the campaign trail descends further and further into the gutter.
I don’t know that it could get any nastier.
It is frightening when one thinks of how presumably intelligent people could resort to making personal and vicious attacks on their political opponents as their best and most strategically planned approach to making representation for themselves and their party.
People want to hear what your plans are for service; we want to know why you must be voted in; we want to know why we must entrust you with the use of the country’s resources; we want to know how you are going to ensure the ordinary man/woman without bags of money will get the justice that he/she needs in a reasonable time frame; we want to know what your plans are for rural reform.
We don’t want to have our ears assailed by information that is designed to humiliate and degrade others.
Our young people are watching and, boy, are they being taught by example!
And by the way, are these people who are spouting bile on the platform squeaky clean?
I hope citizens are reading the signs.
