Rush to recruit 5,000 is madness

The great rush to enlist 5,000 new policemen could prove in the end a waste of public money and an escalation of more crime, especially murders. Approving the expenditure of massive amounts of money is one thing but actually producing it is another.

I suppose in this case, it will  be taken as a loan against our foreseeable national income which at a later time could lead the economy into problems.

The other important point is, are these recruits going to be properly trained before being let loose to hunt down, arrest and charge criminals or are they just going to become shooting targets for killers thereby rustling up the murder rate?

I really don't think these eager applicants have given much thought as to what they are letting themselves into.

Perhaps in the end many may just abscond or never turn up for work once they begin to see their colleagues heading for the morgue on a slab.

Anyway with correct background checks, medical reports and the other associated requirements the number of these budding recruits will soon dwindle.

That is, of course, provided there is such criteria set in the recruiting scheme.

Taking everything into consideration, I think this whole idea is political madness and a further attempt by Jack Warner to acquire more popularity which will assist his stride towards the Premiership.

I can't help feeling there are going to be regrettable consequences. This is like Al Capone enlisting more gangsters. The writing is on the wall.
