Save our children from violent future

Most of us are quite baffled by the intense level of brutal violence which is leading to the wholesale extinction of young men in certain at-risk communities.

How could we so rapidly descend to the stage where you impose a death sentence on yourself by simply entering the geographical domain of a rival gang leader?

Of course, many of us point to the obvious breakdown of the family along with the mimical adoption of American ghetto culture as long-term and short-term contributors to this ghastly situation.

However, the poor example set by so many of our political and business leaders for some time now sees us dealing with heavy corruption everywhere, including the security services.

In this scenario, so many of our young men have decided to get rich quick or die trying.

To begin to change that culture will take at least ten years but we have got to start somewhere, and soon, or else we will quickly become certified as an ungovernable banana republic.

In this regard, we all agree that unwanted and uncared for children are the main raw materials for the burgeoning gang culture of today. So, how about considering the following plan:

Establish a Ministry of Population and Responsible Procreation, to be staffed by the most qualified and capable experts in family planning and social services.

Have a main goal to eliminate all unwanted and uncared for children by the year 2030.

Then quickly develop six three-year action plans with concrete strategic initiatives to work our way towards both less unwanted children and better care for them, thereby drastically reducing and or virtually eliminating the problem by 2030, or some other acceptable timeline.

If we truly care about the future of this country we have got to tackle this number one national problem with serious resources and relentless determination or face an even more chaotic and violent future.
