Stop the excuses
WHEN the President of the Senate asked who was in favour of the Proportional Representation Bill there was a resounding “aye’’ from the Government bench. When the call was made asking who were against the bill there was a deafening silence from both the Opposition bench and the Independent Senators. Those who chose to stay as silent and come now to give frivolous excuses show how disingenuous they are.
The PNMites found no good reason to vote against the Bill as it was on their laps for the past 39 years and did nothing.
The lying excuses coming from both the PNM and the Independent Senators leaves much to be desired from our support leaders. Speak the truth people, it does not pain.
None voted against the bill and the records will show that all were in favour, Government, Opposition and Independents. Proportional Representation at general elections should not take too long as all are in favour.
