TTPost ‘efficiency’ a negative for us
The management at TTPost has made several decisions in order to become efficient, but at the same time the general public is greatly affected.
Formerly all mailing services could have been accessed at one facility. That is a thing of the past. The main district post offices have become delivery centres for mail and the collection of packages. Outlets in areas were created where stamps could be bought and mailing could be done but for some reason some of these did not work out or they most likely lost the franchise and others were given this or else none were created, causing inconvenience for the public.
For instance, Maracas, St Joseph and other areas which were served by the Curepe P.O. lost the one opened on the main road, then the next, then the third, so to get stamps one has to go to the Tunapuna P.O., but the drama does not end there.
To collect packages it is either at the original facility or to the outlet in Valsayn, so without one’s own transportation think of the inconvenience should the package be at Valsayn.
An elderly lady had to collect a package. Since she lives in Maracas, St. Joseph she went to the Curepe P.O. without reading the notice and was told that she had to go to Valsayn. On enquiry at the Curepe P.O. as to the reason for this inconvenience she was told that it was for lack of space there; could some place closer not have been chosen.
