Could the persons responsible for that outlandish, inappropriate lighting display in our serene Botanical Gardens, please indicate to the public just what it is supposed to represent?
The multitude of lights on the tree trunks and railings really have little to do with the season we are commemorating. Whatever happened to a simple crèche?
If we adopted an “all-inclusive” approach to represent our cultural diversity, is that really the most creative display we could provide? I recall that some of the larger tree branches were once lit in an alluring, eye-catching form.
Alas it is all about how we can best submit an outrageous invoice to a government department/ ministry at the end of the season or at the very least obtain free advertisement for a month!
