Thanks and good luck to Gibbs

On behalf of the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago, I would like to sincerely thank you for all you have done to improve the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS).

I feel a sadness in my heart as I strongly believe you were treated very unfairly here and were made scapegoats for every single thing that went wrong in this country. Our citizens wanted you to work magic overnight, to rid this country of the terrible crime rate that has been a way of life for many years.

How could you possibly be comfortable in a corrupt and lawless country where you were both criticised for your every move? I feel ashamed at the treatment you both received from so-called leaders, all the way down to the man in the street.

Then again, I feel happy, Mr Gibbs and Mr Ewatski, that you would be leaving this hellhole called Trinidad and returning to your wonderful homes.

May God bless you both as you journey home to Canada. May God bless us here in T&T, too—we're in a real bad way.
