Tribunal a cover-up?

Integrity Commission head Ken Gordon’s disclosure regarding the call for the establishment of a tribunal to investigate allegations of corruption against Jack Warner is mind-boggling, to say the least. These “recycled” allegations involve FIFA and Concacaf, and Warner is no longer in Government. Additionally, Concacaf’s Integrity Committee, headed by Sir David Simmons, last year concluded a similar investigation on behalf of FIFA/Concacaf.

Why, then, should T&T taxpayers bear the cost for such an investigation? Let FIFA and Concacaf deal with their own affairs. Besides, there are myriad allegations of corruption against Government ministers and public officials involving public funds. As a taxpayer, I am more concerned with these matters.

I would hate to think this recent disclosure is a diversionary tactic or “cover-up”.
